Artist Spotlight: Dee Hong
Here at Salon 808 we are a family and our stylist aren't just hair mechanics, they're artists! Dee Hong has been working at Salon 808 since 2011 and has aimed for excellence ever since. You may be familiar with his work on Instagram as @dee_salon808, performing beautiful balayages, cuts and color services for male and female clients of all hair types. He believes in continuous education and furthering his performance in customer service and attention to detail. Dee's credentials and work in past events isn't enough to justify the quality of work done in each individual client that sits in his chair. Whether it's a new or returning client they leave with beautiful hair and outstanding service.

my calling. Today I continue to grow, learn and love

What do you love about your job?
"I believe and love making people feel and look beautiful. I love how my clients inspire me as a person and as an artist."
What are your specialties?
"I would say my specialties are customizing color and haircuts to each client's specific needs. I'm also a great personal therapist who gives awesome head massages!"
What are your favorite products?
"I love using Goldwell's Kerasilk leave-in sprays and Wella Lux Oil hair mask is a must!"
Favorite styling tools?
"I would say hot tools are my favorite line for curling irons."
How do you define beauty?
"Beauty to me definitely comes from within. Making their hair beautiful helps radiate their inner beauty."
Who or what inspires you?
"I love traveling to different states and countries to learn different techniques on color and haircuts. Education excites and inspires me!"
What can we catch you doing in your free time?
"You can probably catch me at the gym, hiking or just chilling at the beach."

"Dee is easy to talk to and takes serious pride in his work. Just ask any lady who has had their hair colored... good things take time. I knew from last time it's about 3 hour (plus) process for all the magic to happen. Luckily, I came prepared with my phone charger (just in case) and some snacks because I didn't want to be all hangry. It was totally worth it and I walked out 3 hours later with a gorgeous chocolate caramel balayage. He knows how to make a girl feel like a brand new person. Mahalo, Dee! I'll be back but I know I'm going to have to seriously plan ahead to get you!"

"Dee is awesome! Been going to him for a few years now. He always manages to put a smile on my face and leaving me with a killer style. He knows how to elevate your style and put such attention to detail when it come to color and cut. My favorite part of the session is getting my hair washed and massaged. "All I gotta say is DEE is fantastic!! The Salon is great but I keep going back because DEE is there. He is a very knowledgeable and amazing artist with hair and color. Only he knows how and what colors you need to make you look hot and sexy again. I went to Salon 808 after a bad experience at Regis and read the reviews here to see who was the best choice and the most recommended with Color; and I'm happy to agree that DEE is truly the best.
